Nikki Beukes, Clinical Psychologist

Nikki is a registered clinical psychologist, originating from Johannesburg, South Africa. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology (Cum Laude) at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and has experience working in private practice, inpatient psychiatric hospital and adult corrections. Since her arrival in Auckland, Nikki has enjoyed working in youth forensic services and more recently, providing intensive individual and group psychotherapy for adults through Community Mental Health Services, Te Toka Tumai, Te Whatu Ora.

Working within an eclectic therapeutic approach, Nikki incorporates various psychotherapy modalities (e.g. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, family therapy, psychodynamic, existential/humanistic, trauma sensitive yoga and mindfulness) to ensure that each client, couple or families’ needs are met, and that are uniquely tailored to them. Her aim is to create a safe, confidential and exploratory therapeutic space to help clients in developing deep insight into themselves, experience personal growth and to foster healthy habits in order to navigate various obstacles.

Her belief is that finding a therapist who is objective, open and non-judgemental, whom you trust to keep sacred your inner most painful, hidden and deep seated thoughts, feelings and difficulties, can be one of the most liberating gifts you can allow yourself. This is why she became a psychologist.

Nikki’s availability is Thursdays and Fridays, 8am to 2pm, at PractiSpace in Parnell, Central Auckland, and online. She offers therapy to adolescents from age 12 years, adults, couples therapy and family therapy. She also has special interest in the following areas: Mood Disorders (Bipolar and Major Depression); Anxiety Disorders; Trauma Therapy and Debriefing; Personality Disorders; and Sexuality and Gender-Related Therapy (Incl. Sex Therapy and Issues related to LGBTQIA+). This might include difficulties related to sexual functioning, feelings and intimacy, whether through individual or couples therapy.

Fees: $200 per 55-minute consultation, $230 per 85-minute consultation.

Nikki is also Southern Cross affiliated.
